What is Praxio?

Praxio is the company; Retroact is the application. Retroact runs INR-monitored anticoagulant follow-up for community pharmacies and small clinics — the patient list, the results, the dosing calendar, the printed sheet and the appointment book.

Do I have to install anything?

No. Retroact runs in the browser. There is nothing to install, no plugin, and no update to schedule.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes, twice over. The Retroact page runs the actual application in the browser, with sample patients that can be clicked through, added to and changed — no account and no signup. The free bracket also lasts as long as the panel is 1 or 2 patients: the same application everyone else gets.

How long does it take to get going?

Create the account, add a patient, record an INR, print the sheet. Most people are through that loop in a few minutes; moving a whole panel across, one patient at a time, takes an afternoon at most.

Is it available in languages other than English?

Yes. The whole interface and every email exist in 7 languages — English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish and German — and French comes in a Quebec edition and a France edition. The language can be switched at any time from the language selector.

Is there a mobile app?

There is no app to install, and none is needed to record a result: adding an INR works on a phone. The Praxio dashboard and menu open a phone-sized entry screen — pick the patient, enter the value, save. The dosing calendar and the printed sheet stay at the workstation, and the dose is still set there.

Is training or a demo call available?

The interactive demo is there so that nothing has to be booked. For a conversation nonetheless — particularly above 125 patients — write from the contact page and it will be arranged.

How do I record an INR result?

Press + on the results list and the entry form opens beside it: the test date, the INR value, the refill and a comment. The list stays in view throughout, and the next appointment is booked from the same panel.

How does the dosing calendar work?

The month calendar shows what the patient takes each day. Each INR result owns the days it governs and paints them its own colour, so a single glance shows which reading set which dose. One-off adjustments are marked on the day they fall.

Why do the days start on something other than Monday?

The weekly schedule is numbered from the cycle start date, not from the calendar week. Day 1 is whatever weekday the schedule began on, which is what keeps the calendar in step with the patient rather than with the month.

How do I record a one-off dose without changing the week?

Use the Single tab in the weekly schedule. It marks that one day and leaves the recurring week untouched.

The latest INR and the date it was taken, the 7 daily doses with the weekly total, the refill, any one-off doses, and the date of the next INR check. Print it or save it as a PDF.

How do appointments work?

Every booking for the month sits on one calendar, 1 chip per patient. Drag a chip onto another day to move it, or set the next check straight from the patient's result screen — either way the date carries onto the printed sheet.

What does the app check before saving a dose?

Every dose is validated against the dose limits configured for the account before it saves. Those limits belong to the account: Retroact enforces them, it does not decide them.

The share of the patient's history spent inside their target band, broken into in-range, below and above, alongside a curve of every reading plotted against that band.

Can I import my existing patient list?

No — Retroact has no import, and patients are added one at a time. Most panels are built over the first few weeks, as people come in for their INR. The only file Retroact reads back is its own backup: a list exported from Retroact restores complete.

Any time, to CSV, without asking anyone. The data belongs to the account.

How much does it cost?

It depends only on the number of anticoagulation patients followed: free for 1-2, then $19, $39, $59, $79 and $99 CAD a month as the panel grows. Every bracket gets the identical product, and the bill stops at $99, which covers up to 125 patients. Above that the price is agreed individually.

What counts as a patient?

An active patient on an INR-monitored anticoagulant in the list. Archived and inactive patients do not count, so a panel that shrinks moves the account back down a bracket.

What happens when I add a patient that crosses into the next bracket?

The account is told, and the next invoice moves to the new bracket. Adding the patient is not blocked — billing should not be a consideration with a patient present.

Is the free bracket really free?

Yes, for as long as the panel is 1 or 2 patients, with no card and no trial countdown. It is the same application everyone else gets. Free accounts use this help centre and the chat rather than email support.

No. At these prices an annual discount saves very little and commits the account for a year, so none is sold. Monthly, cancellable at any time.

No. Accounts that signed up before these brackets keep that rate permanently.

How does an account with several locations work?

One account covers all of them, and the price follows the patients followed — not the addresses they are followed from. Above 125 patients, write from the contact page and it will be worked out.

Which currency am I billed in?

Canadian dollars. There is one price list and it doesn't vary by country; a card issued elsewhere is converted by its own bank.

How do I sign in?

With a password, a magic link sent to the address on file, or a Microsoft account — whichever suits the pharmacy's setup.

A magic link is single-use and short-lived, so an expired or already-opened link is nearly always the cause. Request a fresh one from the sign-in page.

Check the spam or quarantine folder first — that is where it usually is. If it still has not arrived, ask in the chat and it will be looked into.

What can each role do?

Owners manage billing and the team. Editors record results and doses. Viewers read only. If a colleague can't save a result, they're almost certainly a viewer.

How do I invite a colleague?

From the team page in the account. The invitation shows as pending until it is accepted, and the last sign-in is shown for each person.

How do I change the email on my account?

From the account settings. The new address must be confirmed by clicking the link sent to it; until then the old one stays in force.

Why was I signed out?

Expected after a password change, or when a session is ended deliberately. Signing back in is the fix. If it repeats every few minutes, report it — that is not normal.

Where is the data stored?

On Google Cloud SQL, with automated backups and point-in-time recovery. Written confirmation of the hosting region for a privacy assessment is available on request, rather than recited by a chatbot. Every record can instead be kept on one computer belonging to the practice, where it never reaches Praxio — see below.

Who can see the patients?

The people invited to the account, according to their role. Accounts are separate from one another. On the “On this computer” setup there is no team at all: one computer, one user, and no patient sharing across computers.

Is patient data used to train AI?

No. The support chat on this site is an AI assistant that answers questions about the software — it has no access to patient records, and it is instructed never to ask for patient details.

The conversation is stored so a colleague can pick it up if it is handed to a person, and so it is not lost on a page reload. Patient-identifying details should not be pasted into it.

Can patient data be kept on a computer of the practice’s own?

Yes. The account owner can switch Retroact to “On this computer”, and every record then stays on that computer and never reaches Praxio. It keeps working when the internet is down, and Praxio cannot read, back up or restore anything. The trade-off is one computer and one user: colleagues cannot sign in, patients cannot be shared, and backups are taken locally. Change it under Settings → Data Residency.

A page won't load or looks wrong.

After a release, an old version of the page can linger in the browser. A hard reload (Ctrl+F5, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac) is the first thing to try.

The printed sheet is blank or cut off.

Accepted Answer

That's usually the browser's own print dialog: check the scale, the margins, and whether headers and footers are switched on.

A patient has disappeared from my list.

Accepted Answer

Check whether the list is filtered to those due today or this week, and whether the patient has been archived. If neither explains it, report it immediately — a missing record is treated as urgent.

My patient count looks wrong on the bill.

Accepted Answer

Only active patients count. Archiving is the usual explanation, and it works in the account’s favour. If the number still does not match, ask in the chat and a person will check it.

A dose or a date looks wrong on screen.

Accepted Answer

Report it straight away, through the chat or the contact page. Anything that could affect patient care goes to a person immediately — do not wait to see whether it recurs.

The demo is tiny on my phone.

It is the real application, and the real application is laid out for a full-width screen. Zoom in with the + button, or open it full screen with the expand button — but it reads best on a computer.
